I’m coming up for a quick breath. It’s Friday (can I get a fist pump?!) and that means it’s a light school day over here. We’re just catching up on anything we didn’t finish up during the week and throwing some Math, French and Reading into the mix.
I always feel like my life is over during the first several weeks of the new school year.
Seriously.
It’s just a big fat lie I tell myself, though.
The truth is I’m just lazy and all I want to do is NOTHING once school is over for the day. I’ll get up at the crack of dawn to run, but ask me to walk ten feet into the kitchen to make lunch and it’s all like “What?! You people are hungry? Again?” ::snort::

I’ve been having a tough time getting back into the groove of things since our trip, which I plan on talking to y’all about in a separate post so I’ll save more on that for later.
My girl and I start her official training for the St. Jude’s 1/2 on Monday. I’m also thinking of running another 1/2 a week after St. Jude’s with Melissa‘s cousin, Emily. It will be her first and I told her I would keep her company. Am I insane? Don’t answer that.
In case some of you might be interested in seeing pictures from our time in Oregon, I’ve linked all the posts from my photography site below. It was such a fantastic time away!

oh! love newport! isn’t our area gorgeous, i love seeing it through other’s eyes:) we don’t start til next week with school, then i’m sure i’ll feel the same!
you live around the newport area? we had SO much fun that day. so much fun. ::sigh::
You’re only a little crazy. Just a little.
I’m looking at your times in the sidebar in wonder. And that 28:23 5K in your header? Double wow.
i haven’t run a 28:23 in awhile. a long while. ha!
What on earth kind of shoes are those??? You’re so fancy! ; )
they’re my new running shoes! yeow!
I am right there with you with getting into the swing of school. We had such a fun summer! I (Mommy) am the one that suffered depression the first week of school. I have submitted my will and am doing much better now. It is an adjustment and I am just lazy.
I think you are crazy for signing up for back to back races but plenty of people do it. I think I am crazy for trying to do two in a five week time period. What??
what other one are you doing besides st. judes? also, are we going to try and see each other while y’all are in memphis?!
Two half marathons?
GO GIRL!
So are you saying you are thinking of a half-marathon two saturdays in a row? I have a 10K coming up two weeks from today, and then I want to run another 10K (it’s in Isle of Palms, SC) two weeks after that. Am I crazy? maybe we are of the same sort of crazy. So you are the experienced one: what do I run the two weeks between my 10Ks? do I decrease milage that between weekend or just keep my distance run another 10K? arg. But then again, husband is on call that middle weekend, so maybe I won’t get a run in at all…
yep, one saturday after another.
depending on what your weekly mileage is now, i think you could do two 10Ks two weeks apart. i’m not that experienced though, so i wouldn’t listen to me. ha! try googling something like “what kind of mileage between back to back races” . . .
LOVE the Kinvara 3′s!!!! I’m such an enabler….I wore my slime green ones on my 10-miler today. My pink and black ones arrive on the 12th….just don’t tell my husband…
i was SO tempted to try them out yesterday morning on my six-miler, but i thought better of it. i’ll try them out tomorrow when i run on our road. that way it’ll be easy to trade off about half-way through my run.
by the way, i’m so so so proud of you and your 10-miler. you’re going to do great on your 1/2!
