I’m just going to come straight out and say it . . . I gained five pounds.
Yes, I did.
Last week ~ 159.5
This week ~ 164.5
Not freaking out over here.

This is me not freaking out.
Just breathing.
And moving on.
P. S. I keep having little “victories” with running that make me so happy. Yesterday morning, I set a new 3 mile PR. I ran it in 29:14. Each mile was both {a} under 10 minutes and {b} faster than the one before (negative splits). Last night, I went out for my second run of the day with a group of people. It was my first run in the heat since last summer. It was just shy of 90 degrees out! Yuck. I was pleasantly surprised with how well I did. My first mile was right at 10:06, mile two was 9:55 and then mile 3 was 11:08. I walked up a small hilly section during part of mile three. I much prefer running early in the morning.
P. P. S. I just started playing Words with Friends. I know. I know. I’m old and slow to these things.
Well, I have a bone to pick with the brains behind the game.

Since when is Jedi not an acceptable word?! There are so many things wrong here. On so many levels.
I take issue with this.
The end.

P. P. P. S. I finally replaced my favorite coffee cup.
One of my sweet children accidentally dropped the other one while unloading the dishwasher. I was velly, velly depressed. I had some warm, fond feelings of affection for that mug. The shop I originally purchased it from is no longer open, but I was able to find one at Brookish. If you’re a Jane Austen fan like me, then you’ll love this little shop.
Now, my coffee tastes the way it’s supposed to once again. Score.
P. P. P. P. S. I’ve been slowly watching episodes of Castle. I’m into season two and I can say with absolute certainty ~ Nathan Fillion is HI-larious. It wasn’t love at first watch for me. It’s been hard for me, y’all. I compare everything to 24 or Friday Night Lights because they were both the bombdiggity. Do you have a show that you measure all other shows against?
P. P. P. P. P. S. I feel so blessed by all of you who read this blog. I honestly have no idea what I did to have y’all around here. Y’all are so encouraging, helpful, funny, and on and on. I kinda sorta like y’all. But, not in a weird way. In a totally normal way. Because I’m totally normal. Also, please don’t leave me. I have separation anxiety issues. Or is it co-dependency issues?

Girl…we have all been there! Glad to see that you’re not letting it get you down. You look great!!! xoxo
Love that mug! I’m going to have to snag one of those!
That mug would make coffee taste good to me, for sure.
I struggled running this morning because of the HUMIDITY. Oh.my.word. It’s going to be a long, hot, humid summer as usual. Mornings are the best for me, too.
I only watch AI (Yay Phillip!) and Once Upon a Time on Hulu right now. I’m a TV nerd. I do like Parenthood when it’s on. I think it’s a carry over from my Gilmore Girl days. Miss that show.
Do you read the post from Emily (Chatting at the Sky) about AI? Very good. I don’t watch the show, but loved her post!
I am still TOTALLY amazed that you are sharing with the world!! Thanks!! This is on a poster we have in the garage. My husband loves it and it is now one of my favorites. “The race is not always to the swift but to those who keep on running.” You keep running “not literally” toward your goal and don’t give up the fight! Way to Go!! I enjoy reading your blog
1) your hair looks awesome in that pic
2) CASTLE is one of my faves. Push though, you’ll get addicted.
3) good work on your splits
4) PMS can cause a 3 or 4 pound increase…shrug it off
5) let’s play WWF!
I found you on WWF! woot woot
You are rockin’ hot lady! I am glad you are not freaking out about the numbers! Good for you for focusing on the things that have been great this week!
love your hair!
5 pounds is totally normal fluctuation!
i love castle!
and exclamation points!
snort
Great job on your running! I am striving to consistently stay under 11 minutes, struggling, but making it!
I was there not that long ago. You can do it!
I think one of my favorite parts of reading your blog is because it makes me think I could have written it, not the fast running part LOL but way it is just all over the place in a great way
Oh and I have tried Jedi, yoda and may other REAL words that won’t work but words that do work are stupid like AA or QI blah blah.
Dexter……..nothing compares to Dexter! I LOVE that show. Love it!
I love your blog….because it makes me laugh…so I’m not leaving….I’m also not leaving because I have monumental separation anxiety. I get upset when my 40 year old son hangs up after a phone conversation….I pack my entire wardrobe when I”m going on a weekend trip etc.
I compare all TV shows to “24″, “Friday Night Lights”, and “Six Feet Under”, and “Everwood” and “Upstairs, Downstairs”. I could go on but I’m embarrassed…..LOL
Keep up the good work with running….and perhaps you should stop worrying about the scale……muscle weighs more than fat…….and you are looking so fit and toned….and I love your hair.
You are so beautiful!!!
