Weigh-In Wednesday

It’s that time again.

I don’t have a major weight loss to report this week. I wish that could happen each week!

I hit a small milestone over the weekend. If you follow me on instagram, then you’ve already seen this.

I was able to fit into a pair of jeans I haven’t been able to wear since 2003. Yee-haw!

I had someone ask me if I would share what I eat for breakfast.

I eat the same exact thing every morning. I’m boring like that.

Before I head out to run or go to the gym in the morning, I eat a banana.

A few hours later, I eat:

2 eggs, scrambled
1 piece of whole wheat toast with 1 teaspoon of butter
1 clementine

(Roughly 270 calories)

    I love eggs for breakfast, but I’m not a morning person, so I usually just get lazy & don’t make them…I should start making hard boiled eggs & keeping them in the fridge instead of feeling like I have to make my usual scrambled eggs.

  2. Before I run, I drink coffee and eat either 1/3 of a Luna Protein or 1/2 banana. After that, I usually make an egg sandwich with a fried egg (no yoke), 2 piece of cheese and a light english muffin.

  3. I eat the EXACT same thing every day, too. Piece of fruit, a Mini Babybel Cheese (light), and a Special K 90 calories bar.

    Super creative. ; )

  4. Good for you. It’s so exciting to see you excited about fitting in those jeans!

    I eat nothing before I run. I do better that way. I do drink a glass of water beforehand.

    I cook breakfast every morning for my husband and boys. They tell me what they’d like and I fix it. Usually eggs and bacon or waffles/pancakes with bacon. I love to eat oatmeal. Or of course, grits. ;)

      My husband doesn’t like to eat anything before he runs either. I didn’t use to, but I found that I have more energy when I do.

  6. I do not eat before a run unless I am going for longer than 4 miles (which has not happened in a long time)
    I just drink water and then eat afterwards. It varies as to what…everything from oatmeal with raw fruit and nuts to breakfast burritos. Variety keeps me from getting grouchy!

      Basically, I was wearing these jeans when hubby got back from deployment (while we were living in IL) . . . . and then I promptly got pregnant. Ha! Man, oh man. That seems like a looooong time ago.

  7. Sweet! You look great! I eat a banana morning, even if I’m running…then a bowl of fiber one cereal, with a little “junk cereal” on sprinkled on top – I eat the cereal after a run, if it’s a running day! Love it!

  9. I eat almost exactly the same thing everyday as well. After kid dropoff, I eat a Chobani with a sprinkle of granola and a green tea or, a turkey sausage pattie on a small Lender’s bagel (total calories is 200) and a green tea. About 45 min later I head to the gym :)
    You must try Luna bars! I don’t eat them for breakfast, but I do a lot of times post workout or if it’s mid afternoon and I’m hungry and can’t make it to dinner.

  10. Rockin’ Ruthanne–I’m so proud of you! I’m keeping some jeans to get into some day, too. (They’re probably 15 years old. I love them.) You give me hope!

    I’ve read some diet/nutrition/sports experts think you SHOULD eat the same breakfast every morning. I was eating Fage yogurt for months. I really love it. With the plain, I add vanilla and 2 Splenda packets. But I’ve recently gone back to alternating that with Shredded Wheat and Bran–with a banana–or an English muffin with a tablespoon of peanut butter and sliced banana. We usually have scrambled eggs and toast every Saturday and Sunday. I’m lucky–Hubby makes them for me and I truly look forward to them. He adds a little lowfat cheese and jalapenos and/or green peppers. Sometimes fresh tomatoes. YUM.

    I’m a tidbit ashamed because I’m not a Runner. Honestly, makes me a little jealous, too.! PROUD OF ALL Y’ALL! Yippee!

  11. Well, so I’m not currently running. Given my pregnant state. Okay. Who am I kidding? I didn’t run before Little Leighton. (I do walk! I think that counts some!) But, if there’s one thing I love talking about, it’s food. And breakfast is my most favourite meal. I could eat breakfast-y foods all day long. I’m a big fan of:

    S’mores Pop-Tarts
    Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal
    Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuits

    (Please do not judge the nutritional value of the above.)

    Those are probably my top three. I do throw in some fruit for good measure. Bananas. Pink Lady apples. And Greek yogurt. I LOVE Fage.
