Hair today. Gone tomorrow. Ur . . . Hair yesterday? Gone today?

I visited the salon last night {Hi, Kim!} to get a trim. I left *cough* a few inches shorter. I love it. I feel lighter, my curls look bouncier and um . . . I like it.

My husband? We won’t go there this morning. Mmmkay? ;-)

I’m curious. How about an impromptu, highly-scientific poll . . . .

{A} Does your husband have an opinion on your hair?

{B} If so, what is his preference? {Long, short, medium? Straight, curly, wavy?}

And because I know y’all are just dying to see it . . . . ta da!

I would just like to add that:

{A} I don’t like being in front of the camera.

{B} I don’t like being in front of the camera.

and finally,

{C} I don’t like being in front of the camera.

Note for my sexy, manly-man: I love you. You love me. We’re a happy family. With a great, big hug and a kiss from me to you ~ won’t you say you love me, too?

After a “too short” cut a couple of years ago that I **LOVED** we decided on a compromise. He loves my hair long, long, long – ideally at my waist. I like my hair short – between ears and chin. We reached equilibrium with shoulder length and a full set of bangs. However, to this day any time more than an inch comes off, you would think I shaved my head.

My husband DOES have an opinion about my hair and is not afraid to share it. I compromise. He loves long hair (at least to the shoulder) so I usually at least grant him that. I can have any style, pretty much, as long as it’s still to my shoulders and he’s happy. He wasn’t too happy with me when I chopped Emily’s hair off, but he got over it. :) I love your new do.

Love it! Your curls are looking fabulous! I have super curly hair too, but I don’t have the guts to get it cut short. For the record, I have had the SAME hairstyle since I was a freshman in high school. My friend cut my hair off to right below my ears the summer before I went into high school. Can we say TRAUMATIC???? I had to carry a spray bottle around with me just to maintainthe frizz and poof. Needless to say I didn’t have a clue what to do with my curly short hair. Seriously. Worst time period of my life. I swear I will be 90 and gray haired and still sporting the exact same hairstyle.

My dh likes my hair long too, but the reality is that mine looks better shorter. So I just go back and forth. Oh, I love your hair! And you look great in front of the camera!

Earlier this year when I was toying with chopping my hair into a pixie cut (yikes!), my husband was very encouraging of the change. I’ve had shoulder-length or longer hair for 12 years, so it would have been a big change. I figured, since he was okay with the idea of having a wife with boy-cut hair, I might as well give it a try, since he’d be the one seeing it most of the time. I don’t know if most husbands would be cool with that kind of change, so I should take advantage, right? And now that it’s short, I love it! And ironically, he’s growing his out (aka Bradley Cooper in the Hangover), so I now have the shortest hair in the house!

The lady that cuts my hair “specializes” in curls – she’s great, but her prices are steeper. So I only get my hair cut twice a year. I usually get it “trimmed” to a little below my shoulders {with layers}, and then it just grows out until I have the $$ to go again. ;)

My husband always has an opinion that it’s too short. He wants it longer.

I have curly hair and it’s been short all my life. It just grows out, instead of down, so I always feel I look like bozo. I am however, committed to growing it longer because my stepson is getting married in May and I want fancy hair.

After seeing your hair – I think mine could totally be the same way. One quick question – do you like zig zag part the top of kind of just wing it around? The top is always what I don’t know what to do with.

Thanks for getting in front of the camera today!

Your hair looks mahvelous, dahling! My husband’s opinion is mostly that he wants ME to like it. He’s pretty happy with it most any way I wear it – long, short, curly, straight. It’s a very good thing, considering that I’m incredibly fickle about my hair. It can’t stay the same for more than a handful of days before I’m hankering for something different. I love your hair cut. I have always had long hair until in my early 20′s. I have natural curly hair like you but my hair was always limp with no body. I started growing it long again when I was engaged to my husband. As soon as we got back from our honeymoon, I couldn’t wait to cut it. I have had short hair since then (5 years ago). It also took me a long time to find a hairdresser who knew how to work with my hair. I have been going to her for 4 years now. My husband preferrs long hair but he doens’t have to take the time to style it. With short hair, it takes me probably 10 minutes between drying and styling.

i had this theory that with every child, my hair would get shorter. it was really short after gracie, which would have meant shaving my head was next, had there been a #3 child. hubs said he was always a ‘long-hair’ guy, but liked my ‘do’. after gracie was a few yrs old, i decided to grow it out. when it was long enough to pull up in a pony tail, hubs thanked me for growing it long. :-/

You look amazing!! The first thing I saw was your eyes, actually. But you have gorgeous curls too. It’s a cute cut!

While my husband agrees with most men that long hair can be pretty and sexy, he does not think ALL women look best with long hair (maybe it’s because he’s European and not American? I dunno). I had long hair when we met, but after chopping it to chin length 6 months later, he went crazy for it. I’ve grown it long and cut it short, on and off, a bunch of times since then, but he always likes the shorter cuts best. “It’s not that your hair doesn’t look nice long,” he says, “but short hair shows off your face, and I like seeing more of your face than more of your hair.” (Is it any wonder I married this guy?! lol) Plus when it’s short I tend to style it more often–I think his biggest gripe about me having longer hair is that all I do it pull it up into ponytails every day!

Okay, for starters… These pics make you look like a genuine model. (My opinion, and my daughters would tell you I am pretty honest.) Though, unlike the typical model, your face is sweet and you have that sparkle in your eyes that makes one wonder what you are up to. :> (My 6 year old charmer son has that same look, so I know it well. Mischief is not far from any one of his thoughts!) Your curls are beautiful. Don’t lose the hairdresser.

    MY PERSONAL HAIR SOAPBOX
My husband has always had an opinion about hair. LONG. When we met it was long and blond. (After each baby it got a shade browner, and now it is getting a shade whiter!) I’ve tried to keep him generally happy with the length. But I have thick hair, so wearing it up for long gives me “hair aches” (for those who don’t know: painful headaches caused by the weight of your hair up). But my husband does NOT like pony tails all the time. To him is says, “too busy to care/frumpy housewife/lazy teen”. He just does not care for it, unless we are playing volleyball, or working in the side yard. I have 8 children… so extra time to “fix hair”, well… it feels like a sacrifice. I usually just curl the ends under a bit, and make my bangs go in the direction that suits my face best. I do try to make an effort daily to have decent looking hair. But not lots of time… It’s when we go out that I try to curl it up some, and he likes that. (To give him a little credit, he also complements me even with short hair, when I take a bit of time to fix it nice.)

HOWEVER, I’m normal. I’ve done a lot of experimenting. Color. Liked it. Started to look fake. Cut it short. Grew it out. Perm. Loved it. After a while just looked like old frizz. Hacked it into a layered modern type “do” myself. Liked it. Then didn’t like it so much. Let it grow out. Etc. Life unfolds like that I think. Now I’m in decent, but not great looking, shoulder length mode. And I know that I am on the path to growing it out again…

One thing I think is fascinating: My husband is one of the majority of men that seem to LOVE long hair. I’m trying to respect that, and realize that maybe God in fact made him/them that way… and that hair really is an “earthly glory” on women as per the Bible. Fixing long hair, and keeping it looking decent tends to be a daily… pain. But I know how I feel when I have a “bad hair day”. It really does sort of knock me off my feminine feet, and I don’t FEEL pretty. Then I don’t ACT pretty. Even if I just percieve I’m having a bad hair day, it’s a struggle to feel positive at all! Fickle? Shallow? Yes, but also true. So there is something about hair that has a direct psychological link to my general outlook on a day. I can’t explain it. It is a perfect mystery to me. So better for me to take a few minutes to fix my hair daily… sort of like brushing my teeth (which also has a direct impact on my attractiveness if left undone).

ANYWAY… I can appreciate all sorts of styles on ladies. I guess the main difference is how one might DESCRIBE a style on a lady. One style might be really cute. Or pretty. Or elegant. Or beautiful. Or even sexy. I guess my husband does not mind any of those adjectives. All have their pleasant attributes. But if he had a preference he’d fall into the beautiful/sexy camp… and for him that would be slightly curled LONG. Since I’m in the cute/pretty mode (on a good day), I figure I need to do all I can to keep my hair LOOKING as cute/pretty as it can for now. I can’t always pull off beautiful even when I DO have long hair, but I like of the idea of knowing I can get close when my hair is long enough! Until then I’m determined to be the most “pretty” wife I can be… (I don’t know, I’m thinking some highlights might help. :>)
