I completely forgot to mention yesterday a certain little somethin’ that happened over the weekend. It’s not much. I mean . . . I probably shouldn’t even mention it.
You know, what?
Never mind.
Joking. Totally joking.
I found out Sunday morning that this picture made it into Pioneer Woman’s Happiness Photography Assignment ~ Group 5 Picks:
When I saw it on her website, I sprinted from our bedroom into the Great Room “softly” yelling, “Sweetheart! Sweetheart!”
Hubby ran into the room saying, “What? What is it? Are the children okay?” {He had been praying. Whoops!}
I felt like a goob.
Then, I got over it and showed it to him anyway.
Now, I promise I won’t keep bringing it up on this blog. In fact, I probably won’t ever mention it again. Ever.
Hey, did I mention I met Pioneer Woman? And that we bonded? See. I didn’t mention that other thing.
Your daughter is just always so lovely, even if it’s just her hands {See picture here} . I still think about the pictures you posted awhile ago of her amazing bread-making skills. So I guess that could be my first question: Is your daughter really that perfect?
Here was my daughter’s reply:
“I’m not perfect, but I’m very helpful.”
Don’t y’all just love that?!
I want to know how you find the time to do it all. Blogging. Photography. Baking. Homeschooling. And hours of 24. Please share your secrets. What does a day in your life look like? And I forgot to add sewing to the list!
Humph.
At first, I thought this would be a tough question to answer, but the more I thought about it, the easier it seemed.
I don’t have time to do it all. I flat out don’t do it all.
The number one reason I’m able to dabble in so many things is because of my husband. He supports and encourages me. He helps me reign myself in when needed. He also mops floors, does the laundry and dishes if I’m behind and puts the children to bed. I’m blessed. I know. Believe me, I know.
As far as what a typical day looks like, we try to start school around 8 AM and work until lunch. After lunch, it’s free time for everyone. That’s when I try to get sewing and blogging in. I never get it all done in that time frame, though. I stay up late some nights. I get up early most mornings. Whenever I’m sewing, I have my ipod headset plugged into my laptop and stream episodes of 24.
I bake when I get a craving or my family whines for chocolate, which means I bake a lot. *snort*
Photography is an evolving thing for me and my family. Obviously, I take pictures {almost} everyday around our house, but as far as shooting for others, I just try to fit it in when it fits our family schedule. Right now, it doesn’t happen all that often and I’m okay with that. As the children grow and become more independent, that door may open more fully to me.
Does he ever get embarrassed that you are so obviously in love with him? {Referring to my hubby. Obviously.
}
I asked him and this was his reply, “No. Not at all.”
And there you have it.
Note: This question was prompted by yesterday’s post. If you haven’t seen it and have a highly-sensitive gag reflex around cheese, you might want to have a bucket near by.
