Eclectic Whatnot {and then some}

by Ruthanne on March 1, 2010

I’m working on setting up a Tumblr page, so it will be easier for me to share some of my favorite things floating around the blogosphere. It’s taking me awhile because I don’t want to use a standard Tumblr template.

Noooo. Nu-uh. Not me.

I’m forced to figure it out myself because my web designer fired me as a client {You know who you are ~ you know I love you.} Since it gets sandwiched in-between school, coffee breaks, chocolate and taking pictures of myself in the mirror for no good reason other than to scare others ~ well . . . you can see that these things take time. You don’t want to rush these kinds of things. I’m very responsible and thorough like that.

I’ll let you know when it’s finished. Don’t hold your breath. Please. Seriously. Don’t.

The Theology of Harry Potter by Edie from Life in Grace

This post is way back from November. I went back and read it again and again. And then I listened to the podcasts she recommended and then I stewed some more. Then, I read the series and absolutely loved it! The writing is phenomenal and the storyline is spell binding.

Whole Chicken in a Crock Pot by Toni from The Happy Housewife

Hello. Easy. Simple. What’s not to love?

How to Use a Semicolon

I’m keeping this one bookmarked from now until my youngest graduates. Thankyouverymuch.

What it’s All About by Becky Earl

Hmmmm. I love it. This is what I want to do on one of my walls in our great room.

This is Reverb

The guy is cool. Read the entire blog. Study the pictures. Breathe deeply.

You are so cute. I’m studying your shirt/sweater/ruffle as we speak. Green is your color gf! And oh am I glad I’ve rediscovered JK Rowling. What a brilliant writer. I daresay that CS Lewis would rank her right up there with Tolkein. We’re in the midst of book 5 and my littlest wants to read book one again already. Rowlings’ story is almost miraculous. I’m a huge fan and hope to right a final review when we finish. {we kinda don’t wanna finish, cause then it’s well….over}. I’m so glad you read them and loved them. Another reason we should be next door neighbors!
Mu-wah! And thanks for the linky love.

I got the shirt for free at Blissdom on Karaoke Night. Hanes was the sponsor and gave out goodie bags with t-shirts and socks.

I cut the sleeves to be 3/4″ and cut out a v-neck. Then, followed this tutorial to make the pleated/ruffled collar – http://makeitandloveit.blogspot.com/2010/02/girls-shirt-pleatedruffled-neckline.html

It didn’t quite turn out as cute as I had anticipated, but it’s all good. I’m used to that sort of thing! *snort*

I loved your links; I read them all. I didn’t read Edie’s because I already read that one; her post is what convinced me to read Harry Potter to begin with.

Please note use of semicolons.

I’m fascinated in regards to the Harry Potter bit. We were the lone Christians who read them over this way (and have since re-read numerous times). Everyone else jumped on them from a great height – without having taken the time to read and consider for themselves I should add. And ironic too, when there were other blatantly anti-Christian children’s authors out there doing their thing at the same time.

Anyhow, will get off my soap box, but it is nice to see that we are not alone after all these years!
