An explosively fun time . . . .

Construction of volcano complete. Let’s do this thing!

003

Time to pour in our red colored vinegar.

006

Right. So normally at this point there would be some kind of action going on. We got nothin’ here folks.

017

More vinegar!

018

More baking soda!

021

“Um, Mom. Nothing’s happening.”

023

“Nuffing, Mommy!”

And that’s Lil’ Dub falling over the bucket in the background.

“You okay there, buddy?”

025

Woo, woo – here she goes.

031

Swweeeeet! Let’s do it again.

037

More glitter! And vinegar and baking soda, of course. ;D

065

061

That rocked!

More Chinese Crafts

I found these Good Fortune Cupcakes last night and made them this morning to surprise the crew.

005

Not perfect, but the crew was impressed.

018

This afternoon we all worked on these fortune cookies:

Didn’t they turn out so cute?

Instead of writing out fortunes on the sheets of paper, we wrote out Bible references to blessings.

And then we made a huge mess – a fireworks picture.

I’ve got to add this little bit, which has absolutely nothing to do with our study of China and everything to do with me gushing about one of my children. ;D

For the last two years (um – because I missed the deadline last year *cough*), Cowgirl Princess has saved Box Tops for our local homeschool group. They have a competition each year to see who can save the most and the winner gets a prize.

I made sure I didn’t miss the deadline this year and guess what?

She won!

1,918 Box Tops were gathered and Cowgirl Princess sent in 484 of those, which is over 25%!

And since I’m not done bragging yet, I’ll just add that she’s mentioned in this month’s newsletter. The one that’s sitting right beside me as I type.

Great job, Cowgirl Princess!
